7clouds ensures that employees are paid fairly for the work they do. Fair production therefore includes appropriate remuneration for staff, a negotiated price that covers production costs and guarantees a long-term income. It also includes long-term production guarantees. Jobs are provided for women and men in production. No children are involved in the production process. Economic stability in the manufactory in Calcutta (India) is promoted by pre-financing 70% of the production costs. This security for the producer provides corresponding wage security for the employees.

The amfori BSCI is a leading corporate initiative for improving labour conditions in global supply chains. With the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct, companies can consolidate their business in the long term and reduce risks - also for business partners and investors, lenders or insurers.

Code of Conduct

The amfori BSCI Code of Conduct is based on the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), the universal human rights declarations of the United Nations, the UN Global Compact and the OECD guidelines.

All amfori BSCI participants agree to the CoC and undertake to comply with it. Binding targets by joining, participants commit to involving their suppliers in the amfori BSCI process and are continuously monitored for progress. The suppliers of BSCI participants in turn undertake to comply with the BSCI Code of Conduct and are audited accordingly.

The companies are also supported in their further development with training programmes. Industries Today, amfori BSCI covers all industries and can be applied in all countries.

As 7clouds products are handmade, we consider this to be a crucial aspect of our product authenticity.

Over the years, we have realised that this requirement also corresponds to that of our customers. In times of digitalisation, we try to preserve the tried and tested in our production methods.

All our production raw materials are cut by hand. This way of working enables us to reuse small quantities of RPET left over in the production of bag details.

Automated production would make this impossible. As we strive to create jobs in production and not rationalise them away, we will not use digitally controlled sewing machines in the future either.

By preserving such processes, we protect jobs and promote craftsmanship - so our products will remain authentic in the future.
